Is this event only for women?
No! Men, women, and all are invited to celebrate both Mika & Brian. If you were invited, we'd love for both you and your partner to join us!
Can I bring my child?
Unfortunately, not. We want to make this event focused on the couple. We're getting a sitter for Isabelle, so we don't want to make Izzy jealous by hearing that other kids came :D However, babies under 1 (or not super mobile) are welcome! Please let us know.
What if I get sick?
We would love to see you, but please recover at home! Just let us know you can't make it.
COVID and the flu has been going around, and they're both very dangerous for pregnant women. Mika is a high-risk pregnancy, gets sick easily, and tends to get really, really sick when she is sick. Plus she doesn't get to take the good medicine ;)
Do you prefer gender-neutral gifts?
We're having a boy, so while we'd mostly prefer gender-neutral gifts, blue is also a great color that we don't want to avoid! The nursery will be neutral tones with different greens.
Will food be served?
We'll be serving non-alcoholic drinks, appetizers and desserts. Tapped Public House also has an excellent entree menu and lots of beer, cider, and wine that's available to purchase!
Where do I park? How do I get there?
There's ample parking in the parking lot. The event is in a private space, which has a separate entrance just to the left of the restaurant.
If you're flying in, the closest airport is Everett Paine Field (PAE), but Seattle (SEA) is fine too. We live in Bothell near Mill Creek. If you're looking for hotels, we can recommend what we know. Just text us.
When's the baby due?
He's due January 22nd, 2025, so likely the year of the dragon (hence the theme).
What kind of gifts would you like?
We're honestly looking for things just for the baby. 8 years is a big gap between children and all the baby stuff! Plus it's a boy. We don't need presents for us (Mika & Brian). Thank you for any and all generosity, including your presence!
I still have more questions!
Please feel free to ask Brian or Mika. You can text or call Brian at (206) 496-4434. You can text or call Mika at (510) 325-8715.
